CHONEX was founded to make agriculture more profitable and sustainable. The company’s name is an acronym stemming from the four components of protein – Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Nitrogen, as well as “ex” for extraction.

We’re focused on building the circular economy. We specialize in taking materials perceived to be “low value” and upcycling them to support agricultural resilience and profitability.

Michael Lynch, CoFounder of Chonex

  • Over 20 years building and scaling rural organizations and startups—including leading Teach For America in Alabama and developing community tutoring programs with Auburn University—Michael now channels that expertise into transforming agricultural systems through upcycling technologies.

Will Wright, COO of Chonex

  • With 20+ years in biotech and startup leadership, Will has led strategy at McKinsey NY, founded PackHealth (now part of Quest Diagnostics), and led innovation at Protective Life. A seasoned advisor and growth leader. 

Andrew Lewis Chonex

  • An agsales veteran with a decade of experience at Monsanto, Southern Ag, MagrowTec, and Certus. Holds a master’s in Agribusiness from Mississippi State.

Aaron Goy, GRO and Marketing of Chonex

  • 45+ years in agriculture, leading brand, product, and distribution at Farmland, CIBA-Syngenta, Regal, and founding two distribution companies. A market-building veteran.

Butch Burkett, Operations/Quality of Chonex

  • Over 30 years of industrial plant design and facility operations leadership, including roles at Talon Aerospace, US Clay, and Jemison Demsey Metals.

Erin Williams, CFO of Chonex

  • CPA and CMA with experience in process improvements to scale in real estate and engineering at Omega Realty Group/CS Equities and Revere Control Systems.

Lori Moshman, Entomologist of Chonex

  • Cornell and LSU–trained entomologist focused on insect mass rearing—including black soldier fly larvae for CHONEX’s innovative biological processes.

Dr. Charles Snipes, Director of R&D of Chonex

  • A Ph.D. agronomist with 45 years in product R&D; founded a contract research firm managing over 150 annual crop trials while serving as CFO. 6th-generation farmer. 

Bill Marion Microbiologist at Chonex

  • Biochemist trained at Florida State and structural virology researcher at UAB, drawn to soil microbiology and regenerative agriculture innovation.
